Good recipe by Nick. When I first tried Tiramisu, it was lovely but I have had some since that have too much coffee sprinkled on top, so if you don't like bitter with your sweet, use less coffee or sprinkle chocolate instead.Ingredients 6 egg yolks 1 1/4 cups white sugar 1 1/4 cups mascarpone cheese 1 3/4 cups heavy whipping cream 2 (12 ounce) packages ladyfingers 1/3 cup coffee flavored liqueur Directions Combine egg yolks and sugar in the top of a double boiler, over boiling water. Reduce heat to low, and cook for about 10 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and whip yolks until thick and lemon colored. Add mascarpone to whipped yolks. Beat until combined. In a separate bowl, whip cream to stiff peaks. Gently fold into yolk mixture and set aside. Split the lady fingers in half, and line the bottom and sides of a large glass bowl. Brush with coffee liqueur. Spoon half of the cream filling over the lady fingers. Repeat ladyfingers, coffee liqueur and filling layers. Garnish with cocoa and chocolate curls. Refrigerate several hours or overnight. To make the chocolate curls, use a vegetable peeler and run it down the edge of the chocolate bar.

Traditional tiramisu *does* have ladyfingers, good ones made from a real sponge cake recipe, nothing from a package. Check at your local bakery.Ingredients: (Makes enough for 12 people) 12 shots of espresso 5 shots of Chocolate liqueur (ex: Godiva brand) 1/2 shot of Rum 2 shots of coffee liqueur (ex: Kahlua brand) 3 tablespoons of sugar 6 eggs 48 ladyfingers (usually 2 packages) 16 oz. of mascarpone cheese (usually 2 packages) 6 oz powdered chocolate 1/2 cup of bittersweet chocolate chips 2 tablespoons of milk Whipped cream in a can for garnish directions :http://www.ineedcoffee.com/99/tiramisu/

1 lb mascarpone cheese 3 tablespoons Frangelico (any type of hazelnut liquor will do) 1/4 cup granulated sugar 1 cup heavy whipping cream 24 italian Savoiardi 1 cup espresso (room temperature) 2/3 cup bittersweet chocolate, shaved into small pieces In a large mixing bowl combine the mascarpone cheese, Frangelico liquor and sugar. In a separate bowl whip the whipping cream till soft peaks form. Gently fold mascarpone mixture into the whip cream. In an 8x8-inch glass serving dish layer 1/2 the Savoiardi tightly on the bottom. Drizzle 1/2 the espresso over the Savoiardi, trying to saturate them evenly. Spread 1/2 of the mascarpone mixture on top of the Savoiardi. Sprinkle 1/2 of the shaved chocolate over the top. Layer remaining Savoiardi on top of the shaved chocolate. Again, you are looking to get a nice tight layer. Drizzle the remaining espresso over the Savoiardi. 1Spread the rest of the mascarpone mixture on top of the Savoiardi. You can either spread it nice and smooth with a spatula OR spread the mixture and create soft peaks for texture and appearance. Sprinkle the remaining shaved chocolate on top. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight for best results (at least 8 hours). Enjoy!Make these: Le Cordon Bleu Ladyfinger Recipe Ingredients: Eggs, 3 separated Granulated Sugar, 6 tbs Cake Flour, sifted, 3/4 c Confectioner's Sugar, 6 tbs Directions: 1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees, then brush 2 baking sheets with softened butter and line with parchment paper. 2. Beat the egg whites with a whisk or electric mixer until stiff peaks form. 3. Gradually beat in the granulated sugar and continue beating until stiff peaks form again; the meringue will be glossy and smooth.. 4. Lightly beat the egg yolks with a fork, and fold into the meringue with a wooden spoon. 5. Sift the flour over the mixture and fold in gently. 6. Pipe the ladyfingers: Fit the pastry bag with the large plain tip and fill with the ladyfinger batter. 7. Pipe strips of batter 5 in. long and 3/4 in. wide diagonally onto the baking sheets, leaving 1 to 2 in. between each strip. 8. Sprinkle half the confectioner's sugar over the ladyfingers; wait 5 minutes and sprinkle with the remaining sugar. 9. Holding the parchment paper in place with your thumb, lift one side of the baking sheet and gently tap it on the work surface to remove excess confectioner's sugar. 10. Bake without opening the oven door for 10 min. 11. Then, rotate the baking sheet so the ladyfingers color evenly. 12. Cook until lightly golden, about 5 more minutes. 13. Remove the ladyfingers from the baking sheet with a metal spatula while still hot, and let cool on a rack. http://www.pastrywiz.com/season/tira3.ht...
